Description: During the 80's the far east had become excellent at manufacturing LCD watches. This example is typical of the case and module type. The case and module are not marked with a maker although typically a vague 'logo' sometimes appears (as on this one). Also typical is the press on case back (no water proofing here!) and watch band with simple slide adjustable clasp and loop. Almost all tend to be simple modules with only the basic functions time day and date and maybe seconds. Most important for the average user was the cost...these sold for $1 so when the battery ran out you simply replaced the whole watch (the battery being more than the cost of a replacement watch). Sound familier? Cheap production and the desposable society had arrived.
